So anyways, I'll share my recent car story. I got two front struts replaced the other day. Thursday actually. So I was supposed to be at work at 5pm. I took my car to the mechanic at 2pm and said "I gotta be at work at 5:00, so can you have htis done by 4:30".. "Ya mon" he says.. So after taking forever and assigning his baccha apprentice to the job, who naturally took AGES not knowing what to do... They just BARELY finished my car at 6pm. Yes, 1 hour into my shift at work. So I got into **** at work for reaching late. And on top of that, the kamina insisted that i go to the bank and pay him immediately. While I was already 1 hour late. So i reached work 1.5 hours late, and was pretty pissed off.
To make things worse... As I was leaving work looking forward to a smooth ride on my new Monroe struts... I noticed my brakes didnt feel the same. I dismissed the doubt however as paranoia. About two minutes later as I realised I wasn't paranoid as I drove on the highway ramp and realized I couldn't stop. That's right - I COULDN'T BRAKE... My brakes failed!! Or almost anyways... I had a little bit of pressure still left in the brakes... And I realised this as I was doing 100km/h on the 401. So I freaked out, switched to neutral, and rolled off the next exit, called my mechanic, and SOMEHOW made it there alive.
Anyways, I probably should have given the man **** when I got there (I was lucky he was still open at 9:30pm.), for some reason I didn't. I was just satisfied that they fixed my brakes and I wasn't dead. Anyways, it seems the "apprentice" effed something up when he was installing the struts and opened up a big ass leak that all the brake fluid was coming out of. They sorta fixed my brakes, but they still aren't the same...
Dumb mechanics. Just goes to show: "If you want a job done well.. Do it your own bloody self."
