Karan Johar has stated that Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna explores the darker side of human relationships and each of his characters has grey shades, unlike the previous goody-two-shoes characters in his previous feature films.
Karan Johar has confirmed that Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna will release on August 11th 2006. The song 'Rock 'n Roll Soniye' is yet to be filmed and involves the entire cast; this song will be filmed in July.
Karan Johar has stated that Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna is his original idea and refutes claims that the story has been inspired by Yash Chopra's Silsila or the Hollywoood film Closer.
The original cast Karan Johar had in mind was, Shahrukh Khan, Kajol, Ajay Devgan and Rani Mukerji.
Shibani Bathija who co-wrote the screenplay of this film is also the writer of Fanaa.
This movie was originally slated for release in May/June 2006, however, the release date was pushed to August 2006 due to Amitabh Bachchan's hospitalization.

This was easily one of the worst movies I've seen. The story had more loopholes than any other movie Ive seen. This movie proved two things -

Karan Johar is an idiot, but I guess we already knew that.
Shahrukh is the most un-versatile actor in bollwood,

Please do not watch this movie.

i honestly didnt like shahruk in this movie...
I think ive come to a point where i appreciate other actors for the talent and versatile roles they've taken during their career in the film industry. shahruk needs to break out of this comfort zone he has created with such cheesey movies.
shahruk was awesome in movies like daar and baazigar ..where he could actually play a negative role. but now when i come to think of it. i dont think he can pull that off anymore, because we have better talent out there than him...
to me he is someone i will always adore because he is sooo cute .charming. but in terms of acting.. he needs to do something different!
kank was horrible. althought i enjoyed the cast and all the halla gulla.. goin on thru the entire movie.. it was still not very pleasing.. it started dissapointing me from the intermission .. anywaz. thats jus my view. on kank.

OHHH ohhh .. abhishek looked so good in it. althought it wasnt a BIG BIG role for him, it was well played out. not his best performance but he was okaayyyyyy compared to shahruk. lol..
i dont know abt the girls.. preety and rani are just neutral in this movie.. not so great. not so bad either. ... overall... johar nneeds to start making some GOOD movies...thats all for now. ill add more later.

heyy everybody!!
its good to be back on talkindia...havent been here fr a while...ya kank sucked...i dint expect it to suck this much...i mean i had seen the trailers bfr gonig to india..and when i actually saw the movie, i was hoping fr something new and something different..it was the same cheesy dialogues...the same senti scenes near the waterfront...shahrukh's same played out facial expressions...and i agree karan johar def needs to come up wid something different...
