So I heard alot of bad reviews on Umrao jaan... "its too slow, its a drag..." ... etc
Despite hearing that..i went to watch the movie. And guess what? it turned out to be one of my favourites..
Honestly speaking... it is slow..but it is an amazing tale..(and its a true story) so its hard to imagine someone going through those emotions, feelings...and all the other things that i dont want to mention and give away to those of you who havnt watched it .

I cried alot...and i always think aishwariya is a lil weak on the acting side...but having watched this movie, i think she's done a terrific job. She looks stunning and charismatic...along with abhishek bachan.. Love

i totally loved the songs- they have great lyrics...but none of them stick in your head after youve left the theatre.. (except the bitiyaa song which is saddddddd) ...they r all too similar....but great songs! Big Grin

so from my point of view..GREAT movie ..sooooooo go watch it.

Interesting, this is actually based on a real person. I remember reading the novel in school (urdu class) but i thought it was just a story.
btw, this movie reminds me of devdas + hum dil de chuke sanam.

i have seen the old umrao jaan with rekha in it. i think it was good. i was lil when i watched so i cant recall much. i def wanna see the new one. i hear aish is better. i heard a couple songs, they seemed good.. Smile
